    In attempting to map the entire edge of the Heliosphere, astronomers were running into an issue of interference given off by ribbons of atoms that were blocking full analysis of the shape.

Now a team of astronomers have been able to subtract the emissions given off by these ribbons, allowing for the mapping of the "heliosphere's nose." This feature, analogous to the bow of a ship, appears at the leading edge of the heliosphere.
